That is a common problem that has something to do with
the way in which Access 2000 and Access 97 are installed . Here is the
solution according to Microsoft...
Reinstall Microsoft Access 2000.
Click Start, point to Find, and then click Files or
Folders.
Find the Hatten.ttf file, and then rename it to
Hatten.sav. You must do this to avoid the "No license..."
error message when you start Floss Minder.
NOTE: You can find the Hatten.ttf file in the Fonts
folder under the name, Haettenschweiler.
Find the existing version of the Msaccess.exe file, and
then rename it to Msaccess.2k. Before you rename it, confirm that the
version of the Msaccess.exe file is 9.0x by right-clicking the file, and
then clicking Properties. Then click the Version tab
Reinstall Floss Minder. It shouldn't overwrite your
Floss Minder data, but to be safe, find the file named "FMData.mde"
and back it up.
After the installation is finished, find the Msaccess.2k
file and rename it back to Msaccess.exe. Also, find the Hatten.sav file
and rename it back to Hatten.ttf.
You should now be able to use Floss Minder and Access
2000 without any further problems.

How do
I backup my Floss Minder database?
The key to backing up data is to know where your data
resides. By default Floss Minder is installed in the C:\Program
Files\Floss Minder directory. If you changed this while installing Floss
Minder please make note of the directory that you install Floss Minder
in.
Within the Floss Minder program directory resides a file
named FMDATA.MDE. This file contains all of your Floss Minder project
and inventory data. Therefore, when backing up your data files this is
the only file that you need to backup. All other Floss Minder files can
be reinstalled by running SETUP.EXE from your Floss Minder distribution
media.
*Note: Backup procedures are the same for Floss Minder
2.xx and 3.0. Consult your Floss Minder Help file for more
information.

How
do I import my Floss Minder 2.xx data
When Floss Minder 3.0 is released, in late December
2000, it will use the same data file as Floss Minder 2.xx, therefore you
will NOT need to import the data. If you
installed Floss Minder 3.0 in a different directory than you had Floss
Minder 2.xx installed then you will need to copy the file named
FMDATA.MDE from your Floss Minder 2.xx directory to the Floss Minder 3.0
directory.

If Floss
Minder is a FREE upgrade for registered users of Floss Minder 2.xx
why will I have to obtain a NEW registration ID?
In a nutshell it's because Floss Minder 2.xx was pirated
and anyone who wanted to could search the internet for a registration ID
that worked when you entered the user name Rick Allard. In order to put
an end to this illegal software piracy we developed a new registration
algorithm and developed a new update database that allows us to check to
see if users of Floss Minder 3.0 updates are using illegal registration
IDs.
So if your Floss Minder 2.xx registration user name is
listed as Rick Allard don’t attempt to get tech support or a FREE
upgrade to Floss Minder 3.0. There are no LEGALLY REGISTERED users by
that name.

I
want to try out Floss Minder but am afraid that I'll loose my Floss
Minder 2.xx data. What should I do?
When Floss Minder 3.0 is released it should not overwrite your Floss Minder
2.xx data, however we do recommend that you backup your Floss Minder
2.xx data before installing Floss Minder 3.0. Please search the
Floss Minder 2.xx help file for information on how to backup your Floss
Minder data.

Why
can’t I remove DMC Embroidery Threads?
In order to make the program run efficiently without
error we had to make sure that there was always at least one thread type
in the database at all times. Since DMC Embroidery Threads are by far
the most commonly used threads they were the obvious choice.

Why
won't Floss Minder allow me to print a detailed project report with ALL
information for some of my projects from project manager?
When you try to print a detailed project report with All
information Floss Minder checks to see if there are any materials
(threads, beads, etc.) associated with the project. If there are no
materials associated with the project Floss Minder automatically selects
the report WITHOUT the materials list. This feature was added to help
you from wasting paper when printing out your projects.
